Huge portions!! Loved my prime rib. Fish fries looked awesome! Great staff, well run restaurant. Great view of sunset from the patio!
We were seated at a table by the hostess outside. We received our menus and were told someone would be over shortly. We saw several servers walking all around us to multiple tables. 25 minutes later no one had yet come over and so we notified the hostess we were leaving due to being ignored. Went inside and asked for a manager. We were told to speak to Kevin at the bar. We informed Kevin of our displeasure in waiting and that as a result they were now losing our business. Kevin nonchalantly replied with an insenscere "sorry to hear that". Needless to say we will be checking this off of our regular places.
Great home cooked meals. Delicious bloody marys. Fish dinners daily. Grilled chicken dinner is my favorite. Great home made potato salad too. You won't be disappointed.
Hoak's has a great location with an enormous waterside patio. It seems like a local family owned joint, with no frills food and drink. I love supporting such places. The atmosphere is that of a true American diner, which is great. However the food was very mediocre. The New England Clam Chowder tasted like it came from a Campbell's soup can. Gooey, starchy and thick. The burgers lacked seasoning and were completely flavorless. On the other hand the burger bun with sea salt and caraway seeds was a definite hit.
Worth it! Don’t let the outside fool you. Amazing food and great service. Buffalo chicken sandwich was amazing and huge
